7☆Engraving Experience: Create Your Own Charm

This is an experience where you use a hammer to punch engravings into the surface of the material and apply patterns. Available for ages 4 and up. However, children up to elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian.

Fee: 2800 to 3500 yen (including tax, experience fee, and materials cost)

Duration: about 60 minutes From 1 to 6 participants (more than 7 requires consultation).

You can choose your favorite shaped plate. The silver aluminum plate is 2800 yen. The princess daruma shape is an additional 700 yen. Using our original engraved stamps of alphabets, numbers, and various patterns, you can freely decorate it. You can attach it to your bag, make it a charm for your pet, or give it as a gift!

1Making Charms with Kaga Inlay and Engraving

Kaga Zogan is a rare traditional craft from Kanazawa. Zogan (象嵌) means to 'shape' and 'insert' as it involves embedding one material into another metal.

1. "Creating Name Charms with Kaga Zogan and Original Engravings"

☆ We will create unique name charms using line inlay and engravings.

☆ This workshop allows you to experience the differences in metal colors and enjoy hammering patterns onto the surface.

Fee: 4,300 yen (an additional 100 yen~ ) For elementary school students (guardians must accompany elementary school children)

 Production time : Approximately 60 to 90 minutes, for 1 to 6 participants

【Experience Content】 You can choose your preferred shape (additional 100 yen for round shapes only). Curves +200yen,Kanji and flags around +800 to 1200 yen  In this experience, we will start by fitting silver wire into a brass plate that has been pre-etched with grooves. After setting the silver wire, you will engrave your name or patterns. The staff will assist with the engraving experience.


2."Making Charms with Dot Punching (Nanako) Inlay and Engraving"

Let's inlay small silver beads that resemble fish roe into your original charm!

Fee: 4300 yen (if creating with a plain plate, heart shape only +100 yen)

Suitable for elementary school students (children require the accompaniment of a guardian)Production

time : Approximately 90 to 110 minutes, for 1 to 4 participants

【Experience Content】

Choose one design (shape) you like and inlay nanako. There may be instances where patterned plates are out of stock. In that case, the production will be done using the same plain plate as for the engraving experience.This is one of the traditional craft techniques. We will drill holes and use a small circular-end tool called "nanako tagane" to fit silver lines into the shape resembling fish roe.If you do it well, you'll want to do it again and again! Perfect for those who love detailed work!


3.2026 is the Year of the Horse! Create a travel souvenir charm using Kaga inlay (Kaga zōgan) and footprint engravings.

Let's leave our footprints in Kanazawa! We will create them with line inlay and original engravings.

The twelve zodiac signs that were transmitted from China to Japan change animals every 12 years. The year 2026 will be the Year of the Horse.

This workshop is four steps.

・Using a file to make it smooth.
